Shoals, Indiana, is moving forward, and it’s exciting to see so many good things happening in our town. Over the past year, we’ve welcomed several new businesses to Main Street. A new gun shop will open in the old Violet’s Beauty Shop (that’s where I would sit in the front window and watch the Main Street cars go by as Mom got her hair done), and an archery shop will also be in the former ALCO Store. We will also have a bakery and a new place to get coffee inside Queen’s Clothing (where I ordered my first Shoals High School team jacket in 1976 from Son Sorrels). Our laundromat continues to serve the community well, and it’s great to see these storefronts filling up again.
