Starting a Business in Shoals?

Here’s what you need to know:

Step 1: Register with the State

INBiz Portal: Register your LLC, corporation, or DBA at INBiz
EIN: Get your free Employer ID from irs.gov
Retail Sales? Apply for a Retail Merchant Certificate ($25, valid for 2 years)

Step 2: Check Local Requirements

Shoals doesn’t list permits online. Contact Town Hall to confirm if your business needs:

Zoning approval
Signage permits
Health permits (via Martin County Health Dept. for food-related businesses)

Renewals

State: Most renewals (RRMC, Business Reports) handled via INBiz
Local: Annual renewals (if required) must be confirmed with Town Hall
